Walk-a-thonGreetings: Imagine if you were thirteen and pregnant. Imagine if you were alone and had no place to go. Imagine if your family abused you. Where would you go? IMAGINE New Beginnings. IMAGINE a New Beginning for two lives. New Beginnings is a group home for at "risk teens" who have become pregnant with no other family members to protect, shelter, and support them. New Beginnings Development Services, Inc. steps in and meets broken teens where they are. We offer young at-risk mothers over 15 services to support and teach them to care for their child and live independently in a family-like home setting. New Beginnings primary goal is to help these young mothers see beyond their current situation and glance into a future filled with a successful education as they become self-sufficient and care for their own child. New Beginnings is about young women with children in need and helping them dream dreams beyond their broken past. Not only are we focused on sheltering these young women but we are also dedicated to maturing these women emotionally as mothers so that they can have a successful relationship with their children. Over the years, we have developed strong partnerships with local and state agencies as well as many Hampton Roads businesses. But we still need your help. Teenage pregnancy has become a rising trend. It is our focus to not only help these young women become successful in our community but to also become a community spokesperson for preventing teenage pregnancy. We are asking you, the community to give a few hours of your time and resources on Monday, September 29 to help support this cause. You can support New Beginnings and its mission by serving as a volunteer, through in-kind donation, or becoming a community sponsor. Please partner with us in our efforts to give these young girls and their children a "New Beginning." Ways you can help in this endeavor:
All proceeds will go directly toward helping NBDS, Inc to build additional facilities, maintain the current program services, and build awareness to fight teenage pregnancy. |
